I know everyone thinks their dog is the best dog but Kalea really is an amazing dog. We got her from a sketchy place when she was just 8 weeks old and gave a good home with tons of love. She gives us so much love and joy. Kalea has definitely become one of the best dogs in the world. Here is one I took this past weekend:

"Yappy Hour" in Wenatchee
As dog owners and lovers, we were very excited for our first visit to Yappy Hour at the Chateau Faire Le Pont Winery here in Wenatchee. Yappy Hour is an opportunity for owners and dogs alike, to enjoy and socialize in the only off leash area in Wenatchee. This is probably the nicest off leash dog area that we have ever been to. How often to dogs get to run through vineyards and nicely landscaped areas while owners sip glasses of wine and enjoy one another's company?
Yappy Hour happens every Friday and is sponsored one month by the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society.
We hope to see you and your dog at the next Yappy Hour.

Our peaceful and therapeutic garden...
We recently put in a wonderful little garden in our backyard. It was a therapeutic thing for me to plant seeds knowing that if we did all that we could we would grow wonderful fruits and vegetables.
In the past weeks, I allowed some anxiety and self-doubt to enter my world. These things crept into my world because I was not fully committed to "growing my seed" and doing all that I could to make it grow. I was not "all in".
Anxiety and self-doubt will likely enter my world again at some point but as of right now, I am "all in" and 110% committed to growing the seed of Chris Ohta Photography.

Family and Hawaiian food...
Heidi and I visited my parents this past weekend and we also had the chance to see some family friends that we haven't seen in a long time. The Izumi's have been in our lives for as long as I can remember and have always been like family. This was my first time meeting Kathy's husband, Chris, and their 10 month old son, Quinn. It is always great to see family and to share life with one another.
Here are some photos of the newest member of their family and some of the wonderful Hawaiian style food that the Izumi's prepared:

Friends, kayaks, and playing in the sun...
The Upper Tumwater Canyon has long been a one of our favorite sections of Class III whitewater. One of my best friends, Shelby Scott, and I have been playing on this stretch for close to 8 years now and it is still super fun. Oh, and check out our bro Tyler, T$, shredding the GigBob on the Upper Tummy too.
Here are some photos from a recent run we did on the Upper Tumwater:

Ready for summer...
Summer is just around the corner!!! We are getting ourselves ready for what will surely be another amazing summer. It's not only is it our favorite time of the year because it's warm and sunny but because everyone's energy seems to be a little lighter and more positive. We are so excited for our weddings and family sessions this summer!!! We will also both be taking time out in June and volunteering as photographers for First Descents Camp. First Descents is an amazing adventure recreation camp for young adults with cancer and we feel extremely honored to have this opportunity.
As we get ready for the season, we are spending time shooting for ourselves and trying to see things differently.
