Mining and bordellos...

As Heidi and I were returning from Missoula, MT, we stopped in Wallace, ID for a quick stretch of the legs with cameras in hand.  This town is a blast from the past and has really maintained much of the old west feel.  This is a spot I would love to return to do a couples session or a product shoot as it has a really cool feel.  Here are some more photos from our recent mini-road trip...

Sun, surfing, homework, and new friends...

Brennan's Wave is a great example of what can be done by cities to improve and encourage the use of riverfront areas.  Brennan's Wave is a whitewater playpark with a couple of features and will be host to the US Team Trials this June 30-July 2nd.  It's right downtown Missoula and is surrounded by businesses, restaurants/bars and a beautiful waterfront park.  Check out Strongwater paddle shop for any gear needs or for local beta.  Ask for KB and/or Luke as they are the resident rippers so get the low down from them and then go shred...

This was the perfect place for Heidi to hang out in the sun and get some homework done while I surfed and played with new friends.

Missoula?

Do you want to go to Missoula today?  That's what I asked Heidi at about 8:00am on Wednesday the 14th and by 10:30am we were packed and on the road.  Neither of us had been to Missoula and a little road trip sounded perfect so we set off to check it out.  We got there in the evening on Wednesday and got settled before a walk and some dinner.  It was a very pleasant surprise to find out that Missoula is some what of a food town.  I know, Missoula?!?!  There were very cool unique restaurants all over the place and along with the food the Missoulan's like their beer and if beer was that good where you live you would like just as much.  Killer micro brews with unique versions of IPA's, Scotch Ale, and many others.  There is also a whitewater park right downtown, Brennan's Wave, where we hung out in the sun on Thursday.

I went for a quick drive up the Icicle Valley yesterday to check out the sites and then met up with Jean-Luc, Rob and John to go "whitewater boat riding" on the Tumwater. Here are a couple HDR images to share from the Icicle Valley:
