Ties...

Recently I photographed an event in which our cousin Katy's kids were all dressed up in their suits and dresses. These kids live on a farm in Nevada so they don't get to wear this formal wear very often. Here is a little tie series that I took of the boys all dressed up and one of the whole family.

Life...

Life is a funny thing. Often, we search and search for the secret to life but if we just look a little closer sometimes we find what we are looking for in the places we least expect.

Playing Princess, tag, hide/seek and some kayaking...

This past weekend was filled with some of my favorite things. We watched our niece, Haylee Amaya, over the weekend which is always one of our favorite things to do. She is one of the best kids in the world and we love her with all of our hearts. Our weekend was filled with fun. We played Princess, tag, hide/seek and we went to Walla Walla Point Park on the Columbia River here in Wenatchee.

In between playing princess, tag and hide/seek, Haylee gave me permission to go kayaking so I got in a couple runs on the Tumwater with my good bro Shelby and some of the other bruddahs. We had a great first weekend of Spring. I hope all of you got to share the first weekend of spring with the people and the things that you love.

For me, I got to spend time with my wife and my niece, kayak with one of my best friends on our backyard run and play with my camera. This was an awesome weekend with awesome people and ...does it really get much better?

Here are some photos of one of my favorite models, Haylee Amaya

In Loving Memory of Mary Margaret Radel

Last Friday, I had the honor of shooting my Aunt Mary's Funeral. Mary was my Aunt in-law whom I never actual met in person but she will always have a place in my heart. I love my new family!!! This was one of the most important and powerful things that I have ever done. I can only hope that the photos do justice to the wonderful life and family that Mary created.
Mary we love and miss you!!!

Poaching bridal sessions...

The week of WPPI was an amazing week for us. We reconnected with family, we met and shared with new friends and we got to do a bunch of photo walks for ourselves. The Vegas Strip is such a fun place to shoot photos as you really never know what you will find. Here are some photos of a couple bridal session that I shot as we walked by. Just couldn't help myself, I had to shoot...

Leaving Las Vegas "richer"...

Heidi and I returned from Las Vegas last Friday. We were there for the annual WPPI Convention (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) which was held at the MGM Grand. We also got to spend some time with family which we cherished as it kept us grounded in the sea of overstimulation that is Las Vegas.

We attended some great presentations/classes at WPPI and met some amazing people. One presentation that stands out as "hands down the best" we attended was Jonathan Canlas's "I'm not just a Wedding Photographer". The content of his presentation was fantastic but that was not what captured us. It was his aura, or his persona, that captured and welcomed all of us in attendance. His ability to be true to himself, his family and friends is so inspiring but it was his genuine love for others that struck us the most. His compassion and caring for others is almost Zen-like and this very much comes out in his photography. We were absolutely honored to have been in attendance!!!

This was the first time that we have left Las Vegas feeling "richer" than when we arrived. We reconnected and shared with family which made the trip so special. We learned and were inspired. We met and shared with new friends. We definitely left Las Vegas "richer" than when we arrived...

Now some photos...

The importance of family...

My wife and I just returned from Las Vegas where we got to spend some much needed time with some family, and we also attended the WPPI Convention. I had not seen this part of my family in years, I mean like 12+ years, and this was the first time meeting them for Heidi.

As I travel down the road of life, Family has become of great importance. Family gives strength, Family inspires, Family supports, Family loves and Family is who we are. For me, life has become so much more meaningful as I begin to better understand the importance of Family. I love you all!!! If you are reading this you are part of my Family and you are appreciated more than you know.

Tell someone you love them right now!!! Do not wait to say "I love you" as there is nothing more important in this world than sharing your love.

WE LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!

What happens in Vegas.......

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, right? Unless your wife has a camera and you think it's funny enough to blog. After talking with this guy for a bit, we found out that he is married and has 2 kids. Oh silly Las Vegas.........
